Students handwriting deteriorating

With the increasing use of computers, students experience more cramps while writing and their handwriting becomes sloppier.

Grading exams has become a trickier task now that the youth does almost all their writing on a keyboard. The inexperienced handwritings are increasingly difficult to read and a growing number of students complain of hand cramps after taking a written exam, says the Volkskrant.

More colleges are switching to digital exams. Not only does this solve the problem of unreadable test and painful hands, the pc can also help the professor check the answers. This, however, does not mean students can rest on their laurels. Not having to write also has its disadvantages for the students, as Sylvester Draaijer of the VU explains in the Volkskrant. “I expect professors to be more inclined to read the right answer on a written exam.” He says professors are likely to be stricter while grading a typed exam.
