Decentralized selection for IBA and Economics

All students applying for the Bachelor studies in International Business Administration (IBA) or Economics for the academic year 2013/2014 have to deliver a transcript of grades and a cover letter. The faculty decentralized the application process for these programs. BA in Economics has space for 100 students, and IBA for 150 students.

By fully decentralizing  the selection process, the faculty is no longer dependent on the draw and can complete and control the intake itself. The figures would give a good indication of the expected academic achievements, said Kees Koedijk,  the dean of TiSEM in a letter to the Executive Board. “There is no minimum grade used for selection, but the average grade and the figures for relevant subjects will play a role in the selection. ”

The Tilburg Law School will also have a decentralized selection. From September 2013, a decentralized selection will be introduced for the Bachelor of Law (350 places, 80 percent decentralized selection) and Tax Law (50 places, 80 percent decentralized selection). Students for Global Law (50 seats) are 100 percent selected locally .
