TiU students second-best in SIFE National Competition

SIFE Tilburg reached second place with their Save a Bike project during the SIFE National Competition 2012, where fourteen teams presented their best outreach projects – at home and abroad. The jury, consisting of business leaders, named the team of the University of Amsterdam as winner.

The SIFE UvA team scored high with mobile bicycle repair service Bikeforce in Amsterdam and SIFE Career Coffee for people with mild mental disabilities. The jury decided that as a team they have had the most impact on their community.

SIFE Tilburg spokesman Mohammed el Metalsi says to be proud that the Tilburg team ranked second best. “Last year we were good for a third place, and this year second. It shows that we are a good team if we end up in the top every year. We can certainly be proud of that!”

The University of Amsterdam team will represent the Netherlands at the SIFE World Cup this September in Washington, DC. Thirty-nine Students in Free Enterprise SIFE teams are expected to participate in the international competition.
