Ruud Lubbers leaves foundation board
Jan Hommen, former CEO of ING group, follows Ruud Lubbers in the function of chairman of the foundation board. Lubbers’ term ends next year.
Three other members of the board (Mike Leers, Adriana Esmeijer and Bernard Koeckhoven) also resign. For them, only one replacement is sought. This brings back the number of members, before there were seven, after the changes only five people will take seat in the board. Spokesman Walther Verhoeven says that a quantity of five members is common at other universities. It is important that supervisors are intensively concerned with the university, a smaller team is more convenient for that.
