42,000 signatures against the withdrawal of OV-chipkaart
So far, nearly 42,000 people have signed a petition against the withdrawal of the public transportation card for students. Every minute on the site there appear comments that say “I also think that the PT should remain free for students, so I sign this petition.”
The new coalition of VVD and PvdA argues that the OV chip card from 2015 should be replaced by a discount card. How much discount will students get is not yet known.
The protest site was launched on 29th October and is an initiative of the 15-year old student Milan van Schaik.
