Night University for Dance4Life

The second edition of Night University on the 3th of October will be donating their profits to dance4life; a charity institution that helps people with aids and hiv worldwide. Night University starts at eight o’ clock in the evening. Rector Philip Eijlander closes the event with a short chat at half past one. Night University is an event during which you can experience Tilburg University and follow short courses or enjoy performances.

Students chose the charity institution of this edition. “We placed a poll on our Facebookpage. Dance4life ended up with most of the votes,” says Mark Dekker, leader of the project.

The previous edition collected over three thousand euros for Serious Request. Dekker: “It’s hard to predict what we’ll achieve this year because the format has changed. I think that we’ll surpass the amount of money of the first edition. I hope that we can get four thousand euros. That would be nice.”

Mainly the size of the event had changed. “This year there are more locations. For example, we’re doing some fun things on Talent Square. We also try to show the bond between the campus and the city of Tilburg,” explains Dekker.

“Besides paying costumers, there are other ideas to raise money. Esplanade will donate part of their profits to dance4life. It’s also possible to make a donation,” continues Dekker.

You can already visit the photo exhibition “mother is ill” in the Cobbenhagen building. On September 19 there’s a song contest. The winner will perform next tot rapper Lange Frans on the opening of Night University.
