Campus Poet 2011: Karel Soudijn
For the fifth time, the Campus Poet at Tilburg University has been chosen. Karel Soudijn, Professor of Psychology, can deliver his ‘poetical commentary’ on the university during 2011.
The jury praises his beautifully constructed, rhythmic poems, that ‘offer contemplation’ and ‘make the reader smile’. Soudijn is not unfamiliar with writing poetry: he already published several collections.
During the University’s New Year’s reception at January 3rd, the organizer of the Campus Poet election, Ingrid Ramaan, put the previous campus poet, Nathan de Groot, in the spotlight one last time. At the end of his appointment, he has published a poetry collection: In kannen en kruiken, elaborating on the university. There are even some English poems in there.
