‘Study brochures often misleading and subjective’

Information in brochures of Dutch universities is often misleading, subjective and wrong, a study by student union LSVb shows. The union conducted a research into 52 information brochures of several Dutch universities.

The report ‘Voorliegen of voorlichting’ (‘lying to or information’) includes two brochures of Tilburg University. But it is not clear to what extend these brochures are misleading.

Tilburg University spokesman Walther Verhoeven takes the report seriously. “It is in nobody’s interest if a student chooses a study that later turns out to be not suitable.” Verhoeven said he will have a critical look at Tilburg University’s informational brochures. Also the study info website will be checked to see if it needs improvements. [MW/transl. YD]
