Lecturers follow students on Twitter
Twenty lecturers of Tilburg University are going to follow students on Twitter. They will take part in a research project into the importance of social media to education.
More and more students are using social media. Approximately 27% of young people between 15 and 24 years are using Twitter and this percentage is still rising. It is clear that students are leading a 2 .0 life, while they are learning the old-fashioned way.
The twenty teachers will follow their students on Twitter to get more insight into the possibilities of the medium. The project is part of a Communication and Information Sciences’ study into the use of social media in education. [EV/transl. YV]
