Tilburg Titans win national championship

The Tilburg lacrosse club Tilburg Titans won the national championship in the second division last Sunday.  The team will be playing in the First division of the Dutch National Lacrosse League next year.

The last game day of the season was organized in Tilburg. During this final game at the Tilburg University Sportscentre, the Tilburg Titans team beat the Mixed Madmen – a mix of Delft Barons’ and Tilburg Titans’ players.

Lacrosse is team sport of Native American origin that is played by two teams of 10 to 12 players. Each player carries a stick (called the cross) with a net on the end. With this stick the players try to shoot a rubber ball into the opponent’s goal. The sport is a mixture of basketball, rugby, hurling, hockey and hockey.
