Tilburg extends opening hours for pubs
The pubs in the city centre of Tilburg will soon stay open seven days a week until 04.00 hours; sandwich bars and the like until five o’clock at night.
Tilburg’s Executive Board has proposed to the city council to have longer opening hours, says regional daily Brabants Dagblad. Earlier, the city council already argued for longer opening hours. At the moment, pubs can only stay open until 4.00 hours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
By extending opening hours for pubs, Tilburg aims to tackle the public-disturbance peak around four o’clock at night.
Earlier this week, the council committee for Economic Affairs already decided that, as from 2012, shops can stay open every Sunday.
