Fuss about price Tilburg University sweaters
Students have mixed feelings about the price they have the pay for the new Tilburg University sweaters at Prisma Print. The fact that the dark blue sweater with Tilburg University logo is going to cost nearly 50 euros has created some commotion on campus. At the Studystore the sweaters used to cost 35 euros.
“It is pure theft, is what first comes to mind”, “much too expensive”, “50 euros for a sweater, impossible” and “50 euro? When I add 30 I can get an Armani”, students said on Twitter.
Peter Smits, head of logistics at Tilburg University and responsible for Prisma Print, also receives many positive responses from students who want to buy a sweater. “Why the sweater is more expensive? I do not know those old sweaters. Now the purchase price, due to higher textile prices, have gone up. We also offer a very high quality. The sweater is custom made with the logo of the university. If you buy a standard blue color sweater, it is cheaper than this dark blue one.”
Smith expects to sell enough sweaters: “There are many students who want to order the sweater, which is not possible until July. So far, I have ordered 750 sweaters in various sizes, but I can always order more.”
Polos, t-shirts and caps; Prisma Print is still working on a Tilburg University’s clothing line expansion.” If students wish to see other products in the store, such as hats and socks, they can let us know.”
The sweaters are not for sale via the Internet yet, but Prisma Print is planning to cooperate with StuGood to make this possible.
