Music concerts in campus garden

The open-air music event of Flemish Palm Parkies, former Muzenconcerten, will again be a stage for several Dutch and Flemish artists this summer. The concerts in the campus garden – every Wednesday from 6 July to 17 August – are free, but bringing your own drinks is not allowed anymore.

eva de roovereIn Tilburg, this series of concerts is better known by the name Muzenconcerten. Since 2009, the name of the brewer is used. The music festival started on a small-scale basis in 1991, but has become a major festival in the Netherlands and Flanders. At five locations in the Netherlands, people can listen to free music concerts in the summer. The Dutch band De Kast, Flemish singer Eva de Roovere and Hans Dulfer Dance Band are amongst the highlights of this year’s performances.

Whether Tilburg will attract as many visitors as in previous years is unclear. It is no longer allowed to bring your own drinks to the campus garden, according to the organization. These restrictions only apply in Tilburg.  According to the organization it is the only city where visitors brought their own drinks on such a large scale. Several university students and employees have already said they would not attend the concerts anymore because of the restrictions. Through Twitter, people have suggested various alternatives, such as asking a small entrance fee.

When: Every Wednesday evening
Time:  20.00 hours.
