Tilburg University adopts remote working

If the job is suitable with it, Tilburg University employees can now work from home one day a week. The Executive Board had decided to adopt teleworking after positive results with a pilot project that started in May last year.

About thirty employees from faculties and service department participated in the teleworking pilot project of Tilburg University. Both management and teleworkers were very enthusiastic about it. The pilot was backed by the Department of Human Resource Studies School of Social and Behavioral Sciences (TSB). It concluded that the new way of working can be very effective for Tilburg University. The position, however, should be suitable for it and it should benefit the department.

Many organizations struggle with the culture shift that’s required to manage a remote workforce. The telework program at Tilburg University will be reassessed after two years to see if it can be better organized.
