Campaign for exchange student raises 22000 pounds
A Twitter campaign to replace the stolen items of 20-year-old Mohd Ashraf Haziq Rosli has raised 22,000 pounds. The Malaysian exchange student became international news when he was robbed while he was injured during the London riots.
In a few days hundreds of donations were made on the website called Let’s Do Something Nice For Ashraf Haziq (and others). Visitors could vote for the kind of nice thing they had in mind, like paying his tuition or buying tickets for his family to visit him in hospital. The results are not known yet.
