Dutch students choose physics because of crisis

So far 109 students have signed up for the study Physics and Astronomy at the University of Amsterdam, 30 percent more than last year. The bachelor’s  program is very popular because of the debt crisis, Metro reports.

Last year the University of Amsterdam had 84 students who enrolled in Physics and Astronomy. Already 109 students have now pre-registered. This number may still change over the next two weeks as students reconsider or do register for the study. Also the TU Delft and the University of Twente experience a remarkable growth in Technical Physics, 36 and 21 percent respectively.

As a physicist, you have a good job prospects in both science and business, according to Metro.
