Student parties take action to keep workstations
Students’ parties Front and SAM have jointly taken action against plans to reduce computer workstations for students at Tilburg University.
The parties have set up a petition against the plan of the Executive Board to remove half of the 1,000 available workstations.
According to the Executive Board, less computer workstations will not cause any problems, because more and more students have a laptop or tablet computer. Offering students a bare desk should be enough, the board says.
Therefore, in most cases, the discarded desktop computer at Tilburg University will not be replaced. It would save up to 100,000 euros over three years.
At the moment, 624 students have signed the petition.
