Children TiU employees meet Sinterklaas

The Black Box was a fun place and packed to the rafters Wednesday afternoon. Not with students for a discussion meeting or debate, but with excited and happy children who were singing loudly to welcome Sinterklaas and his three helpers.

While the Saint was seated to hear from children what gift they would like, or just for a chat, the children were having fun with the music and entertainment pieten. They jumped rope, played children’s games, and one after the other sinterklaas song was sung.

For baby Dasha, the daughter of Russian assistant professor Elena Golovko, it was the first time that she visited a Saint Nicholas meeting at Tilburg University. But not for her sister Annamaria. She was already looking forward to this welcome party for weeks, her mother says. And yes, she has been sweet and will of course also receive presents on December 5. Dasha and Annamaria are lucky. On New Year’s Day they will also be visited by a Russian Nicholas. This Grandfather Frost and his granddaughter also give gifts to children.
