Cleaners at Tilburg University continue their work

The national strike in the cleaning sector has no effect yet on the university. The GOM and ISS cleaners, who are employed here, have not put down their brooms and dusters, says Sjef Mulders, head of Client Services at Tilburg University.

Part of the cleaning sector in the Netherlands went on strike when negiotiations for a better collective labour agreement got stuck. It is said that there are 2000 cleaning workers on strike. Labour Union FNV hopes to get a domino effect, going from a small strike to one that grows. Whether the cleaners at the university will join in and stop working, is not known.
