NS: 9 out of 10 students check in
Ninety percent of the students who travel by train, check-in as is mandatory since January this year. This makes the campaign of the NS, in which they inform students of this new policy, successful.
NS-spokesman Eric Trinthamer told the NOS that students comply with the new rules. “We expected them to check in and out, but the results are better than we had hoped.” The public transportation system already had mandatory check-ins, so students were already used to the concept.
Students who don’t check-in will not yet get fined. Whether this will change in the future is yet to be decided.
