Control of higher education more severe
Next year the quality of higher education will be supervised more strictly. Surveillance will get sharpened, the way in which educations control each other will be revised.
This is written down in a legislative proposal by Secretary of State Zijlstra (Education). Today the cabinet discusses the proposal, reports De Telegraaf.
Zijlstra sharpens the control because many complains have arisen about poor education and diploma fraud on institutions like Inholland and the Hogeschool van Amsterdam.
Currently HBO’s and university’s evaluate each other via their own committees which have established members. From 2013 an independent organization gets the task of composing review commissions, which should consist of variable colleagues.
Educational institutions also have to control their students more severe. Tests and graduation have to match a high quality, which means they will get more difficult.
