Love the international campus
Not a big fan of Valentine’s Day? You can spend this day more productively and contribute to the internationalization of the TiU campus.
“My Funny Valentine” event on 14th February attempts to answer questions about increasingly international campus. Participants will discuss opportunities and challenges of interaction between domestic and international students. The main question asked by the organizers is: should the university develop a code of conduct for the international learning environment, or are students themselves able to cope with diversity within the classroom?
The event under a controversial banner “We hate you. All very welkom” is organized by Academic Forum, I*ESN and the Towards an international campus program. Three speakers will give input to the discussion: Prof. dr. Sjaak Kroon from the department of Culture Studies, exchange student Alex von Güntert and a master student from the USA Ellen Thompson. The event will be chaired by Hans-Georg van Liempd, Senior Program Manager of Towards an international campus program.
It is not the first initiative towards internationalization that van Liempd had organized. In September 2011 he hosted a brainstorm session during which participants discussed culture, services, language and integration on Tilburg University campus.
