Morning-after pill dispenser on American campus
Buying a morning-after pill is not easy. The Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania has a solution to the problem: a morning-after pill dispenser.
Many students find themselves in someone else’s bed in the morning. When the person next to you is someone vaguely recognized from the previous night’s party, what you’ve done was most likely not safe. Now what? The Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania gives students a hand: a morning-after pill dispenser!
The machine has a playful name “Plan B, When things do not go as planned” and provide the morning-after pills, condoms, contraceptive pills and pregnancy tests. The morning-after pill costs only €25, which is cheaper than in stores and certainly less embarrassing to buy.
The machine is a response to the study carried out at the university. 85% out of 8.500 students reported that they need such a machine. On average, the machine is used once a day. “Plan B” seems to work.
