Amsterdam a top Dutch student city
Amsterdam is the highest ranked student city in the Netherlands, but the Dutch capital comes only as 36th in a new global ranking of the world’s best places to study.
The QS Best Student Cities ranking for year 2012 is based on twelve criteria. Not only the reputation of schools but also factors like quality of life, number and quality of educational institutions, and living costs are included in the survey.
Top rated places to study are Paris, London and Boston in the US. Amsterdam is placed between Manchester and Moscow. The European domination among the the top fifty places is surprising. Apparently the “old” Europe does quite well when it comes to the quality of its educational institutions and the attractiveness of its cities.
In 2011 QS has placed Tilburg roughly between 401 and 450 overall ranking position. It’s not something to get overexcited with, but the site mentions that Tilburg has a reputation of Europe’s best in the field of Business, Economics and Law. And that’s something to be proud of.
