Zijlstra: first take care of education in the Netherlands
Dutch universities may be temporarily not accredited to open educational institutions abroad. The quality of higher education in the Netherlands should be a priority, says the Minister of Education Halbe Zijlstra.Zijlstra writes in a letter to the House of Representatives: “I think the time is not right yet for the Dutch institutions to offer programs and grant degrees abroad.”
The Law on Higher Education and Scientific Research (WHW) states that such a procedure is possible for the universities. However, the government says the law is not yet operational.
