Charity Action of students in Rotterdam not appreciated
The Rotterdam Student Society wanted to raise money for the Familiehuis Daniel den Hoed in Rotterdam, where families of cancer patients can stay overnight. Their efforts were not appreciated by the organization.
The students wanted to organize a beer action to raise money for charity. The management of Familiehuis Daniel den Hoed finds the link between beer and their organization inappropriate, reports the AD.
The students designed coupons with which the participants could pay for beer. In order to promote the action, there made a poster depicting ladies holding big beer mugs. The Familiehuis Daniel den Hoed wants to dissociate itself from the action, because unhealthy behaviors such as alcohol consumption increase the risk of cancer.
The Rotterdam Student Society now thinks about a new fundraising campaign.
