Women work in only 13% of TiU top management positions

It seems that it is easier for women to get a flower (for International Women’s Day) than to get a job at the university. Not many women work on top management positions of Tilburg University. The targets concerning the female employment are also quite low.

Among the academic staff only 13% top management positions are taken by women. Tilburg University set a goal for employing women for only 15% of these jobs, which is not very ambitious. The situation is slightly better when it comes to lower management positions. 27% of those jobs are done by women, and this figure is slightly higher that the set target of 25%.

Women seem to feel better at administrative and support jobs. In this field women occupy 38% of top management positions, largely exceeding a target of 21%.

The biggest number of women is working in the lower management positions in administration, making 49% of total employment.
