The City combines internet from student houses

The city of Tilburg wants to combine the Wi-Fi networks from student houses. It is part of an experiment to create an open network with free Wi-Fi in the center of the city.

In about half a year Tilburg municipal information should be available free of charge through wireless internet. After that period the town will decide whether to continue the project.

The municipality has also placed ten internet points in the city. In the neighborhood of these points it is free to access applications such as the Tilburg City Guide. This is a digital city guide that allows visitors and residents to receive information about the city on their smartphones. Providers such as the library or museum can offer their information free of charge via the mobile network of the municipality.
