Building Faculty Club voted most beautiful
The Faculty Club has been voted the most beautiful building on campus, followed by the Vigilant building. Third in the list is the Cobbenhagen building, which is currently being renovated.
For two weeks, students and staff of Tilburg University could vote for the most beautiful building on campus on the website of Univers. The Faculty club received 144 votes in the poll. 100 students voted for Vigilant (the security building) and 71 voters preferred the Cobbenhagen building. With 64 votes, the Academia Building ended just outside of the top three. The Simon and Goossens buildings received the least amount of votes (two votes each).
Gabe van der Zee, Director of Facility Services: “In my opinion, the Cobbenhagen building is the most beautiful building on campus. It still breathes the atmosphere of the old academy, where professors and students peacefully walked through the corridors and exchanged thoughts with one another. Some supporters would provide coffee and administration in the serene atmosphere. The building is currently under construction, but we try to maintain that old climate so our oldest building can remain the heart of the university.”
Peter Smits, Head Demand Management & Printing, Facility Services on the Faculty Club: “I think it is a architectonic beautiful building, which optimally uses the great windows for the view of the scenery: the forest. You feel like you’re in a completely different environment than on campus, 50 meters further. I like the exterior and comfort of the chosen furniture and the atmosphere is nice. Moreover, the building is very durable (low energy consumption) which appeals to me as facility manager.”
