Another award for Bob van den Brand

Bob van den Brand received the e-Learning Award for his teaching with interactive web-lectures, called i-Star. He won the prize in the category ‘Best practice e-Learning’. The system of Van den Brand was already in prices.

The teaching method created by Van den Brand, Onderwys.com and Van den Brand’s colleagues , contributes to a better motivation of students and to higher graduation rates. Students can not only attend lectures via computer, but through i-Star they can also get notes for examinations, additional explanations and assignments, and the possibility of a live consultation.

The i-Star is a successful addition to traditional education. The success rate of Accounting bachelor thanks to the interactive teaching method increased from 58 percent to 79 percent. In Business Controls, an increase of 57 percent to 84 percent was registered.

The system of Van den Brand won the prize already three times. The  first prize it won was Oasis, then the Rich Media Impact Award, and the prestigious Jim Bulloch Award.
