Travelling costs during the holidays
A little help with the travelling costs for the upcoming holidays.
For students with a weekend subscription it is actually quite simple. A public holiday is Sunday and as with that subscription, you can always travel for free on public holidays.
For the lucky owners of a weekly pass the rules are slightly less convenient. You can normally travel every weekday without paying, but during the holidays you should pay. The good news is that you’ll get 40% discount, as usual.
Holidays | Weekly subscription | Weekend subscription |
Good Friday (April 6) | Free travel | Free travel |
Easter Monday (April 9) | 40% off | Free travel |
Queensday (30 april) | 40% off | Free travel |
Liberation Day (May 5) | 40% off | Free travel |
Ascension Day (May 17) | 40% off | Free travel |
Whit Monday (May 28) | 40% off | Free travel |
* 16 July -16 August * | 40% off | Free travel |
An exception is Good Friday- all students can travel for free tomorrow. It is also useful to remember that, unlike you student grant, your free travelling will not be valid throughout the whole summer. From 16 July to 16 August the owners of a weekly subscription must pay for their trips.
