MeiMarkt this weekend
This weekend you’ll need a torchlight, some change and your sixth sense for bargains, and join the MeiMarkt (May Market). From Saturday to Sunday from 10 pm to 5pm you’ll get the chance to buy great second-hand things.
On Saturday night the city of Tilburg will be decorated with 750 stalls offering things from clothing and shoes to books. It is perfect for the student who happen to be short on cash. Come early, though, because with 110,000 other visitors the competition is fierce.
The thing with MeiMarkt is that it can go both ways. It can be hilarious, thanks to the drunken visitors. Or it can go totally wrong when you suddenly realize your wallet is gone, thanks to your own intoxication level.
To ensure that everything you buy what looks somewhat nice, it’s a good idea to set yourself a goal. Start looking for a unicorn. Find the one great plate of the Imca Marina. Or aim for a ready-made collection of crocheted underpants.
Take weather dependent Schrobbelèr a bottle or a bottle of prosecco with it. Guaranteed fun.
