More Greek students in the Netherlands

1,400 Greek students joined Dutch universities this academic year, which makes for an increase of 33%. The poor prospects in their own country are one of the mian reasons.

The Volkskrant reports today that the Netherlands, after the United States, Australia, England and Germany, is the most popular among the Greeks. This has to do with the reputation of the universities and the wide range of masters. Also, the relatively low costs of training and daily life contribute to the popularity of the Netherlands.

In Greece the youth unemployment is on the level of 52%. A poll of the Panteion University in Athens shows that 70% of students study abroad to escape the crisis.
