100.000 euros for highly educated refugees
Dutch employers’ organization VNO-NCW has donated hundred thousand euros to the Foundation for Refugee Students UAF. Chairman Ruud Lubbers and former UAF student Henry Greenfeld received the donation together from Bernard Wientjes.
The UAF supports higher educated refugees and asylum seekers with study plans and finding a job in the Netherlands that meet their skills and abilities. The refugees have often completed a study and gained work experience in the country of origin.
Ruud Lubbers called on present companies to make greater use of the talents of highly skilled refugees. Especially in the fields of technology and heath care they will be desperately needed, Lubbers said.
