Tilburg cheap to live in

Tilburg student rooms are now a lot cheaper than in the rest of the country. With an increase of 1.3 percent from last year, rents in Tilburg  remain far below a national rent increase of 12.5 percent. This is the cheapest city in Brabant to live in.

Also, Den Bosch and Breda remain relatively cheap, since the rent increased there by 5 and 6 percent. Eindhoven is well above the national average with an increase of 14.4 percent. Breda has still the most expensive dorm rooms in Brabant. Nationwide, the average price for a student room is now 402 euros. In Tilburg, this is only 305 euros per month.

The nationwide supply of rooms increased last year over the first five months by 12,737, which makes for an increase of 28.2 percent. Still, the student union LSVb thinks that during the upcoming years about 30- 60 thousand new student rooms are needed to reduce the housing shortage.
