Social loan system for students from 2014
The basic study grant for all students will be cancelled and replaced by the social loan system. VVD and PvdA agreed that such a system would work better.
The new loan system will be introduced in 2014 and will only apply to new students. The loan will be on good terms: the interest rate.= will be favorable and students have to repay the amount only when they have completed their studies and have a job (source: NOS News).
