Tilburg University stops collecting longs study fines

As of today, Tilburg University no longer collects long study fines. So far, the university continued collecting the money because it still had not received an official notice from the Ministry of Education.

Even though the House of Representatives cancelled the long study measure on the 9th of October,  Tilburg University announced that it will continue collecting the money until the decision was final. Today the university changed its policy and stopped collecting the fines. The already paid fines will be refunded as soon as possible.

It is however still possible that the long study fine will be collected at the end of this month (for the last time). Tilburg University tries to stop collecting but at this moment they cannot guarantee that they can actually stop the process in time. More information (in Dutch, English will follow soon) on the website.

There are two meetings organized to answer students’ questions about the long study fine. The meetings will take place on:

Thursday, 11 October, 13.00-14.00 pm, hall Sz 31
Thursday, October 25, 11.00-12.00, Room 201 Az
