Coffeeshops should not be private clubs
The Mayor of Tilburg, Peter Noordanus, says that coffee shops should no longer be private clubs. If someone can prove that he lives in the Netherlands, for example by showing a passport, he should be allowed to buy weed in a coffee shop.
This is reported by the Brabants Dagblad today. According to Noordanus, the requirement to register at coffeeshops, that is mandatory in Limburg, Brabant and Zeeland since May, should be withdrawn. He says that young people should be prevented from engaging in trade, which is now clearly an alternative way to buy weed.
