More Dutch students to the USA

In the last five years, the number of Dutch students in America increased by nearly eighteen percent. This year nearly 2000 Dutch students went to America, while nearly 2500 American students came to the Netherlands.

This data is published in the annual report of Open Doors. The figures indicate a trend. The figures no to specify whether the students follow a summer course, go on exchange or whether they are registered as full time degree-seeking students.

The country-specific reports show that nearly 200.000 Chinese students went to America. The Chinese students are now the largest group of foreign students in America. About 15.000 American students go to China for their studies. This puts China on a fifth place of the most popular study destinations for American students. The United Kingdom is the most popular destination (34,000), followed by Italy (28,000), Spain (26,000) and France (17,000).
