Night trains run until 2 a.m. for a few months

Until mid-June 2013 the night trains run only until 2 a.m. This decision is valid until mid-June 2013. Afterwards, the trains will run until 4 a.m. again.

Earlier this year it was decided that the night trains in Brabant should run only until 2 a.m, because after this hour there are not enough travelers and the costs of keeping (almost empty) night trains running are too high. But this proposal caused many negative reactions. It was decided that until June 2013 the trains will be running until 2 a.m, but after that the schedule goes back to normal.

The connection will be open between Eindhoven – Utrecht, Eindhoven – Rotterdam and Tilburg – ’s Hertogenbosch. Costs will go up to more than one million euros, divided between five municipalities (73,000 euros each) and the province (820,000 euros).
