TOP-week Winter Edition

New exchange students at Tilburg University are literally having a Winter Edition of the TOP-week Winter Edition!

The TOP-week Winter Edition started at Saturday the 12th. On that day 150 students from 50 different countries came to Tilburg to study at our university. Most of them are exchange students, but there were also 19 degree seeking students. It didn’t take long before the arrivals were surprised by the snow and for some newcomers this was the first time they have ever encountered this white substance. For some of them the first acquaintance was quite slippery. One student even fell on his head. Luckily he is okay now.

Most of the students came by train on Saturday (of course after they arrived by plane). I*ESN mentors waited for hours at Tilburg Central Station to give them a warm welcome. The students could then buy their blue bikes from the Save a Bike Project from SIFE (from the 1st of January they are named Enactus) and got their rooms.

Then on Monday the TOP-week Winter Edition, organized by the international office and the Tilburg Orientation Program (TOP), really started. From the 14th till the 18th the students will be getting to know the campus, their study and the city of Tilburg. Yesterday the students went to the largest Dutch themepark: The Efteling. Today the students discovered the sports center, and there was even a lecture about the Dutch drugs policy. Tonight the students will learn another part of Dutch student life: a beer cantus is organized by the TOP to get the full experience.

And if the students aren’t satisfied yet they can join the introduction camp, which is organized by I*ESN, from the 18th till the 20th of January!
