MOOC the world a better place

MOOC’s,  massive open online courses, are a new movement. According to Thomas Friedman nothing has more potential to lift people out of poverty than MOOC’s.

MOOC’s are free web based courses for large groups of people. According to Thomas Friedman people can educate themselves through these MOOC’s and and get (better) jobs.  These online courses can also be applied in foreign aid, because the education programs are already there. Only computers with internet (and of course electricity) are needed to enable people to enter the courses. This way MOOC’s can contribute to a better world. The free web based courses also have the potential of reforming higher education.

Right here at Tilburg, TiasNimbas has an online course about supply chain management. The first ‘webinar’ was today at 11.00 pm.
