Where do you need to study in order to get rich? A study on which universities deliver the wealthiest alumni can tell you this exactly.

The organization that conducted the research is Wealth-X, which creates detailed reports on Ultra High Net Worth Individuals (UHNWIs). UNHWIs are individuals with a net worth of at least 30 million dollar. In the report they ranked universities globally based on the number of UHNW alumni.

Unsurprisingly, the biggest chance of becoming a millionaire is studying at Harvard. It has the highest UNHW lumni population and highest total net worth for its UNHW alumni: 401 UNHW alumni, of which 52 billionaires, who account for a total of 205 US billion dollar. All the other ivy league universities are also represented in the top 20. The University of Pennsylvania comes second and Stanford University third. Seventeen out of the top 20 are U.S. universities. Oxford University, the University of Cambridge and the University of Mumbai are the only non U.S. universities  in the top 20.

The highest ranked public university is the University of Virginia who also has the most self made UNHW alumni. The University of Mumbai has the highest percentage of UNHW Alumni who have inherited their wealth.
