Univers knows where to go
Holidays are happy times. Not just because you get some extra days off, but also because there are lots of free activities. Univers knows where the go during those free days!
29th of April the day before Queen’s day
-On the 29th of April you can sing along with many songs during ‘Tilburg Zingt’ (Tilburg Sings) from 19.30 at Schouwburgring (near the Bisschop Zwijsenstraat)
30th of April Queen’s day
-On Queen’s day you can watch everything about the succession on large screens in the Leijpark from 11.00 till 19.30. There will be performances of Rare Vocals, big band Big Deal, guitar player Martin van Son, The Boston Tea Party and DJ Mikel. There is also a street market for children with games, puppet theater and clowns.
-There is a crowning party at the Korvelseweg from 10.00 until 17.00 with live music from students of the Rock Academy, street theater, jumble sale and expositions.
-There are also queen parties at Stadhuisstraat, Paleisring, Piusplein, Korte Heuvel and Heuvelring from 13.00 until 23.00.
-You can go and see a royal concert by the Euregio Youth Orchesta at 19.30. Get free tickets here.
-At night there are fireworks at the Piushaven from 21.55 – 22.30.
4th of May Memorial Day
-There is a commemoration service at 19.00 in the Church of ’t Heike. Hirsh Balling, professor at TiU and UvA and Zoni Weisz, representative of the Sinti and Roma community and Holocaust survivors will speak. There will be a poem of Keving Frambach and music from Choir Ad Parnassum and Jan van der Plas.
-At eight o’clock there will be a two-minute silence. At 20.02 poems will be read and wreaths will be layn on the memorial at the Schouwburgring
-From 20.45 there is a Requiem for Auschwitz in the Concert Hall of Tilburg.
5th of May Liberation Day
-On the 5th of May one can enter the sports event ‘Rondje Tilburg’ in the city center. (You can sign up until the 1st of May). You can run, walk, cycle or maintain bike during this event.
-You can go to a Liberation Festival at Vidar (in Hilvarenbeek) organized by Luna and Kater.
