A new currency bill for five euro is used as of today. More security features ensure that copying the bill is more difficult. The most visible feature is the color changing of the five digit, it can change from green to blue and back.
Of the nearly three billion new bills about 60 million bills are going to be used in the Netherlands. The five euro bill is the most used and it gets damaged the fastest. The latest fives are not only different in appearance, but the quality improved as well.
The bill has a new appearance, but the theme is still the same with its bridges and ports. Also new are short, palpable lines on the bill. This way, they will be more recognizable for the blind and impaired.
