Two prizes for Enactus Cups

Are you allowed to drink coffee in the library in Enactus’s durable mugs? It’s still up for debate. Gabe van der Zee, director of Facility Services and the Library and Information Services, both say that you can’t, but Enactus claims that an ‘unknown’ library employee gave them the go-ahead anyway. Today – Monday morning – the mensa is still covered with evidence: the poster with the text ‘you can take these cups to the library work area’ still grace its walls.

Despite the discussion, students from Enactus Tilburg have won the National competition of Enactus Nederland with their idea. 14 teams participated in the competition. The Tilburg delegation also won the Enactus Valorization award. This award is given to the team that creates the most value and applies knowledge to the development of new products or services. Enactus has kept true to their promise to win the national competition this year.

Every country that Enactus operates in has a national competition. The Enactus-team of Tilburg University will represent Netherlands during the international ‘World Cup’ in Mexico from 29 September to the first of October. The team from Tilburg will have to face off against 37 other national champions from around the world.

The jury of the Dutch competition had a little touch of Tilburg as well: Koen Becking, TiU’s executive director was a judge, as well as Doekle Terpstra and Rob Brons, both active in exectutive boards of graduate schools.
