More co-operation European universities

The Nuffic, the Dutch organization for international co-operation in higher education, is working on a system to improve the recognition of qualifications internationally. It’s a peer review system that can be used to check the quality of the centres that are responsible for this recognition, the so called ENIC and NARIC-centres.

It’s essential to tune the way that qualifications are looked at internationally. If it wasn’t for the communication between the centres, it would be impossible to study abroad and come back with enough points to get a degree in your home country. If Europe wants an ‘European higher education-space’ (and it does), the different organizations have to communicate very well. The efforts that the Nuffic makes are part of the development of  a manual with guidelines for European collaboration.

The different ‘NARIC’s’ are going to evaluate themselves and each other by visitations. The Dutch team already went to Poland, and in return they were visited by the French. The first experiences with the new system are very positive.
