TiU mourns death of family Witteveen
During a memorial service in the auditorium of Tilburg University, staff and students pay their respects to Willem Witteveen, Marit Witteveen and Lidwien Heerkens. The professor, student and former employee died in the crash of the MH17 in Ukrain.
Several people gave a small speech about the family, and praised them for their intelligence, sympathy and collegiality. Each in their own way have meant a lot to Tilburg University. At the end of the service, the attendees listened to some classical music and got the chance to commemorate the tragic death of the family in silence.
