Apple starts Italian Developer Academy for students

Always wanted to develop apps for Apple? More than 200 students can attend a nine months course at the Italian university di Napoli Federico II in Napels. Apple has been working with the university to start an education centre. Here, students can work on their iOS-programming skills.

The university will be accesible for all European students. It is also the first iOS Developer Academy in Europe. The course will consist of two semesters, in which students will learn basic skills about iOS-programming. But that’s not all, subjects like app-design and building a start-up will also be taught during lectures. The goal is to use teamwork projects to develop products that are ready to be sold in the App Store.

The programme will be totally free of charge. In some particular cases, a student can be granted a scholarship to cover the living expenses. The iOS Developer Academy will officially open this October. Applicants will be asked to take an online test in English or Italian. Candidates who pass this test will be invited for an interview. More information about the academy can be found on their website. You do not have to be trained in technology to apply.
