Substantial increase in early applications Tilburg University

The number of early applications for bachelor studies at Tilburg University is 29,3 percent higher than last year. With that, our university grows faster than any other university in The Netherlands. The biggest growth is found in Organization Studies, where the number of applicants has grown 111,8 percent. Econometrics and Operations Research takes a flight to, and so does Theology. The two studies grow with 66,7 percent. The most popular bachelor is still Business Economics, with 440 applicants. The only program that has less applicants compared to last year is Psychology. The number is 7,6 percent lower. TSB’s board had to deal with a drop for four years now and is going to take action soon. Members of the faculty council came up with some ideas to increase the number of applicants. There will be an English bachelor Psychology and the board wants to get rid of the limited enrollment. No final numbers
The numbers do not say anything about the actual number of first year students that will start in September. Some people will apply later, fail their exams or cannot start because of the limited enrollment rules. Soon to be students can only apply for four programs. The eventual number of applications is usually lower than the number of early applications. In October, the definitive numbers will be announced.
